ATLAS TDAQ Architecture WG. Notes of the meeting of 28-08-02 GMO 28.08.02 Present: Beniamino di Girolamo, Saul Gonzalez, Benedetto Gorini, Reiner Hauser, Serguei Kolos, Giuseppe Mornacchi Excused: Bob Dobinson - "Themese for discussions" Prior to the meeting Reiner had distributed an edited summary of the suggestions e-mailed by working group members. The summary is organised in terms of topics (e.g. design). It was proposed: - to add a "validation" topics, including such items as "performance" and "test plan" currently under deployment. - To prioritise items with respect to their relevance, or not, for the TDR - To word the item "where is the interface defined" to reflect the question related to "where the interface fits in the design of the component" It is understood that generic questions such as "is your design documented" are expected to be provided with a pointer to a document, and not elicit a presentation of the design. This latter has been extensively done during the July review week. Reiner will produce and distributed an updated "list of themes" which we should consider almost complete. - Calendar of discussions Given various absences it was decided to aim at the last week in september (excluding the 17 and 18) and the first in October (week starting Sept. 30th). People should propose dates for those items related to their sub-system (see the list in the notes for the meeting of august 7th), distribute by e-mail and giuseppe will organise the final schedule. - How to document The outcome of the discussions should be collected together so as to provide a first draft of the existing architecture. The first draft could be organised in terms of components and interfaces according to the list of components and the list of topics from the "themes list". In terms of real work: - the wg member "associated" to the component (see list in notes August 7th) will provide an unedited summary of the discussion about a component. - giuseppe will edit and merge the summaries into a document draft - Parameters Beniamino continues to collect parameters and hopes to complete a first table of parameters related to RODs etc. within a couple of weeks. - Reading lists Benedetto will provide a reading list for the ROS, although an important document (the URD) cannot be made public yet - Working Group definition The point was raised on how to interact with "architecture groups" which might possibly be active within sub-systems. It is felt that the working group operational model as defined up to now fits well with the existence of sub-system architecture groups, provided the people responsible for the latter are also member of the TDaQ architecture wg. Giuseppe will take this into account in the "wg definition" document, and distribute a new versionof this latter. - Next meeting The work between now and the first "informal discussion" can be done via e-mail and does not need a meeting - List of components and contacts (from Notes of 7 August) Component Who to Ask Level-1/TTC Nick Ellis ROD/ROD crate/ROL R.
